According to the agreement with the General Union of Arab Chambers, the Second Joint Meeting of the Russian-Arab Business Council was held in Moscow from June 28th to June 29th, 2004 in the «World Trade Center» in Moscow.
Khaled Abu Ismail, a representative of the Egyptian business community, the President of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, headed the Arab delegation.
The following Arab officials also visited the Russian capital: Abdurrahman Ali Al-Jureisi, the Chairman of the Directors Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Saudi Arabia, Abdurrahman Attar, the Secretary General of the Syrian Chamber of Commerce Federation, Jacques Sarraf, the Chairman of the «Malia» Group of Companies, the Honorary Consul of Russia in Lebanon, Adnan Cassar, the Deputy Chairman of the General Union of the Arab Chambers, Ilyas Gantus, the Secretary General of the General Union, as well as the heads of chambers of commerce of Arab countries national federations, heads of major companies from Egypt, Lebanon, Oman, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Sudan, the League of Arab States representatives.
The Russian business circles were represented by the members of the Coordination Council and the RABC associate members, the heads of large companies and holding companies.
The President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, E.M. Primakov - headed the session work.

Yevtushenkov, the Chairman of JSFC «Sistema» Board of Directors, the Chairman of the RABC, T.A. Gvilava, the Director of the RABC, the representatives of specialized ministries and departments, the heads of «Vnesheconombank», OJSC «Aeroflot», OJSC «SUAL-Holding», OJSC «Rosoboronexport», «NaftaMoskva», OJSC «Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works», «CiBOSS», «Pipe Metallurgical Company», etc.
S.V. Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, read greetings to the participants of the RABC Second Joint Meeting from Putin V.V, the President of the Russian Federation. It was noted in the greeting that, despite the short work duration (one year), the Russian-Arab Business Council had made a significant contribution to Russia and the Arab world relations.
Sergey Lavrov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, noted that the main objective of the Russian-Arab Business Council was cooperation, that would help improving relations between Russia and the Arab countries. «We want to see a prosperous Middle East, including for political regulation,» the Russian foreign minister noted.

He noted the necessity of cooperation between the business communities of Russia and the Arab countries. «The laws adopted, said Khaled Abu Ismail, contribute to improving relations between our countries and expand investments in the economy. We are interested in creating joint projects in the field of tourism, trade, electronic industry, and banking».

Yevtushenkov, the Chairman of the RABC Russian Department, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSFC «Sistema» noted in his welcoming speech that the business community was aimed at developing partnership connections and specific projects in the oil, gas, communication, and other spheres. «It is important that the government supports the interaction process. The Russian and Arab businessmen develop a feeling of trust and respect for each other. The RABC potential is significant and owing to it, many interesting projects will be realized», emphasized V.P. Yevtushenkov.
The session participants exchanged views on the geopolitical situation in the Arab region and its impact on the conditions of the Russian-Arab trade and economic cooperation. A number of bilateral meetings and talks took place between the representatives of the Russian and Arab business circles. Within the session, V.P. Yevtushenkov, the Chairman of the Russian-Arab Business Council, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSFC «Sistema» announced plans to create bilateral business councils within the framework of the RABC. The start of such bilateral cooperation was laid by the Russian-Egyptian Business Council.
Within the session, an industrial exhibition was held, in which seventeen Russian companies took part.
